Bridgenorth Football Club
Volunteer roles
Volunteers are an integral part of our club. Without them, we simply would not exist. Volunteer roles include (but are not limited to):
- Committee members
- Team and match managers
- Working in the Canteen
- Behind the bar
- Entry fee collection at the gate
- Goal and boundary umpires
...and so on. Game days are busy, and many hands make light work. If you are interested in assisting our great club, please drop us a line. Some of the roles we have available for 2026 are below. If anyone is interested in these roles (or others you may think of), please complete the form below and our Volunteer Co-ordinator will be in touch to have a chat.
Roles available
Boundary Umpires
Boundary umpires are required for each Under 18.5 match, both home and away, with each club providing at least one official per game. The role requires a general understanding of the rules, a basic level of fitness to run your side of the ground, and a whistle. A current Working With Vulnerable People card is mandatory for anyone aged 18 or over and must be presented to the Match Manager on match day.
Goal Umpires
Goal umpires are required for every Under 18.5 and Senior Women’s match, both home and away. The role suits someone with a general understanding of the rules and has the ability to stand in the goal area for the full game. Each quarter (and at full time), you’ll quickly confirm scores with the other goal umpire to ensure everything matches. The club will provide the scorecard and flags each game.
A current Working With Vulnerable People card is required for anyone aged 18 or over and must be shown to the Match Manager on match day.
Water Carriers
Water runners support the team by delivering water to players throughout the match. Your name will be added to the team sheet on game day. A current Working With Vulnerable People card is required for anyone aged 18 or over and must be shown to the Match Manager on the day.
Bar Staff
Assist the bar team on game day by serving and supporting customers. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is required. Please provide a copy to a committee member before you work.
Gate Attendant
Help the club on match day by collecting entry payments at the gate (cash or EFTPOS). Even if you can only spare a couple of hours, it makes a big difference and would be greatly appreciated.
Canteen
Assist in serving customers, cooking, making hot drinks and restocking of supplies in our canteen on game day. Game day can get very busy, and the more people we get to help, the better. This is an integral part of our club.
Live Scoring
Live scoring is required for all games. We’re looking for volunteers who can watch a game (or multiple if you’re keen) and use the GameDay app to update the score throughout the match.
