What to Expect on Game Day at Parrot Park
Bridgenorth Football Club is located at 629 Bridgenorth Rd, Bridgenorth TAS 7275.
When you arrive, you’ll come through the gate and pay a small entry fee. Card payment is available, so no stress if you don’t have cash on you.
Parking is flexible. You can pull in around the field and settle wherever suits. The one tip we’ll give every newcomer: don’t park directly behind the goals unless you’re keen to test your windscreen. There’s a reason those spots stay empty.
Drive slowly once you’re inside. There are always people moving around the ground on game day, especially kids. If a game is already underway when you arrive, you’ll often see teams warming up around the boundary instead of on the ground. It’s part of the flow of the day.
Finding Your Spot
Most spectators get there early, especially on cold or windy days. The best spots go fast, which are right up against the boundary, so you’ve got a clear view and can stay warm. When the weather’s rough, plenty of people watch from their cars with a blanket and a good angle on the play. When the sun’s out, the crowd shifts closer to the clubrooms and the whole place feels like a picnic with footy in the middle of it.
Canteen, Bar, and the Basics
Once you’re parked, head over to the canteen on the far right of the clubrooms. You’ll find warm food, lollies, snacks and lunch options, with card payment available. If you’re after something from the bar, grab it from inside the clubrooms.
Toilets are behind the clubrooms, and if you’re unsure, ask someone at the canteen or pop into the clubrooms. People are happy to point you in the right direction.
...AND the Atmosphere
Bridgenorth home games pull a real mix: families, past players, kids, locals, travelling supporters, and sponsors. What you’ll notice straight away is the energy. There’s plenty of fire, plenty of laughs, and a crowd that actually cares about what’s happening in front of them.
First goal? The place lifts.
Big tackle? People feel it.
If the game gets fiery, the sidelines lift with it. It’s a proper spectator sport here, not background noise.
And when the Parrots win, you’ll know. The team heads into the change rooms to sing the song, and spectators are welcome to come in and join them. Wins are shared here. That’s how it works.
A Quick Tip for First-Timers
If you’re new to footy or new to Parrot Park, don’t overthink it. Dress warm, bring a blanket, park close, and get comfortable. Food and drinks are always available, and the crowd wants you in it.
Don’t do what a lot of first-timers do (including plenty of us once): drive past the gate, park in the wrong spot, freeze in the wind, and feel like you’re not “meant” to get loud. You are. That’s the fun.
Parrot Park is better when the sideline is in it.
Home games are ours. We’re proud of that. They’re where the club gets around its teams, where people catch up, where kids see their heroes up close, and where the whole community sits behind the jumper.
Come early. Settle in.
And once the ball’s moving, don’t be shy, get into it.
