A NEW PATHWAY FOR YOUNG PLAYERS
The Bridgenorth Under 18.5s team is an exciting new step in our junior-to-senior pathway, giving emerging players the chance to develop, compete, and belong in a strong club environment under the guidance of coaches Ryan Byard and Alec Roberts.
This age group is designed to support young footballers as they build confidence and experience at a higher level of footy, with a strong focus on skill development, game understanding, fitness, and team culture. It’s a great space for players to grow their craft while enjoying the mateship and pride that come with wearing the Bridgenorth colours.
Eligibility is simple: Players who are under 18.5 years old as of December 31 this year are eligible to play in the Under 18.5s under the new age category.

Our Vision for 2026
The Under 18.5s group enters 2026 with clear goals. The focus is on playing finals football, being hard to play against, and delivering an energetic, entertaining style of football. Just as importantly, the program aims to equip players with the tools they need to grow not only as footballers, but as people.
This is about building habits, confidence, and resilience that carry through into senior football and beyond.
Coaches Expectations
Being part of the Under 18.5s means committing to more than just showing up on game day. Players are expected to buy into the culture of the club, communicate openly with coaches and teammates, and support each other at all times. Effort, respect, and accountability are non-negotiable.
The coaching group places a strong emphasis on positive standards. Negative or non-constructive talk has no place in this program. Instead, players are encouraged to lift each other, build confidence within the group, and contribute to an environment where everyone feels supported and motivated to improve.
