Our Women’s 2026 season has come to an end after going down to Old Launcestonians 36 to 7 in some atrocious conditions at Hillwood Recreation Reserve.
From the opening bounce, it was clear it was going to be a tough day for footy. Neither side managed to score in the first quarter as both teams battled the conditions.
Old Launcestonians were able to make the most of their opportunities in the second term, opening up a 21-point lead by half time. The Parrots continued to battle throughout the second half, but it just wasn’t our day, with OLS eventually securing the win and a place in the Grand Final.
Courtney Sharman kicked our only goal for the game, while Taja Richardson, Emma Woods, Lucy Cooper, Mikayla Bowden, Alex Dickenson and Jade Binns were named among our best.

While it wasn’t the way we wanted the season to finish, there is plenty for this group to be proud of.
The Women’s put together a fantastic 2026 season, finishing second on the ladder and making it all the way to the Preliminary Final. There were some huge performances, many debutants, milestones, new faces and great footy along the way.
A massive congratulations to all of our players and coaches, and thank you to the volunteers, families and supporters who have been behind the team throughout the year.
Well done on a brilliant season, girls. We’re proud of you.
