Round 10 Match Report

Despite battling rain, wind and cold conditions throughout the day, the Bridgenorth Parrots recorded four impressive victories on home soil over the weekend.

Under 18.5s
The Under 18.5s continued their strong form with a hard-fought 35 to 30 victory over St Patrick's. Playing in shocking wet weather from the opening bounce, the young Parrots showed great determination to hold the lead throughout the match. Bridgenorth led by 14 points heading into the final quarter before St Patrick's launched a late comeback. However, a crucial final-quarter goal ensured the Parrots held on for another important win.

Women's
The Women's side delivered a dominant performance against Meander Valley, running out 108 to 0 winners despite the difficult conditions.

Battling strong winds, rain and cold temperatures, the Parrots controlled the game from start to finish and were rewarded on the scoreboard with an outstanding team performance.

The match was also a special occasion for Sarah Donnelly, who celebrated her 50th game for the club.

Reserves
The Reserves maintained their undefeated season with a gritty 22 to 20 win over Rocherlea. Bridgenorth set the tone early by keeping Rocherlea scoreless in the first quarter and building a handy lead. Rocherlea responded by shutting down the Parrots' scoring in the second half, but the early work proved enough as Bridgenorth held on in a tight contest.

Seniors
The Seniors produced one of their most determined performances of the season, coming from 26 points down to defeat Rocherlea 35 to 29. Rocherlea dominated the opening quarter and kept the Parrots scoreless to take a commanding early lead. Bridgenorth responded brilliantly, holding Rocherlea goalless in the second quarter to reduce the margin to 14-26 at halftime.

The momentum continued after the break, with Rocherlea again unable to find a goal in the third quarter as the Parrots closed within two points. The pressure remained high in the final term, and with only minutes remaining, Rohan Sergeant kicked the match-winning goal to complete a remarkable comeback victory.
