What a statement our teams have made heading into the 2026 season.

On March 28, all four sides launched their campaigns two weeks early against St Patrick’s at Prospect Park. With perfect conditions overhead, there was a strong sense of anticipation as both new and returning players proudly pulled on the long-awaited sash guernsey for the first time this year.

Under 18.5s

Bridgenorth’s Under 18.5s showed plenty of promise despite falling short, with St Patrick’s running out 21-point winners.

Final Score:
St Patrick’s 59 defeated Bridgenorth 38

Lincoln Hodge led the way with two goals, while Isaac Bezemer, Levi Nettlefold and William Frost each added one.

There were strong individual performances across the ground, with Malachai Dunne, Angus Caie, Nate Clements, Tayte Romari, Lincoln Hodge and Isaac Bezemer named among the best.

Senior Women

The Senior Women delivered a dominant performance to open their season, overwhelming St Patrick’s with a commanding 101-point victory.

A powerful forward display saw Courtney Sharman and Emily McKinnell each boot four goals, supported by Chelsea Bezemer (3), Teagan Hodgetts (2), and singles to Lucy Cooper and Lily Spencer.

The match also marked an important milestone for the club, with Hadassah Buist and Isabelle Bleathman making their debuts, while Alec Daniels led the side for the first time as coach.

The game was called two minutes early following an on-field incident.

Reserves

The Reserves continued the club’s strong showing with a convincing 53-point win, controlling the game across all areas.

Thomas Lilly was a standout up forward with three goals, while Will Robinson added two. Contributions also came from Ryan Geale, Thomas Tierney, Aaron Woods and Codey Ketchell, with one additional goal rounding out the total.

The match marked the first game under new coach Roger Menzie, with the group showing strong cohesion and intent from the outset.

Senior Men

The Senior Men capped off a dominant day with a commanding 99-point victory, showcasing both attacking firepower and defensive control.

Bridgenorth 124 defeated St Patrick’s 24

Casey Walker-Russell opened the scoring, setting the tone early before Rohan Sergeant’s goal-kicking dominance took control of the game.

Sergeant delivered a standout performance with an incredible 10-goal haul, supported by Walker-Russell (3), Joe O’Sign (2), and singles from Bailey Mitchell, Billy Jack, Tom Knowles and Oliver Ketchell.

It was a memorable outing for debutants Bailey Mitchell and Tom Knowles, both hitting the scoreboard. Mitchell also played a key role in defence, intercepting and shutting down multiple St Patrick’s forward entries.

The match also marked the first game under new coach Zachary Griffiths.
