Returning Coaches Announced for 2026 Under 18.5s

Bridgenorth Football Club is proud to announce the return of Ryan Byard and Alec “Relton” Roberts as coaches of our Under 18.5s for the 2026 season.

Both Ryan and Alec return after their 2025 campaign and bring continuity, energy, and a clear development-focused vision to our Colts program. Their commitment to both football excellence and personal growth strongly aligns with the club’s values and long-term direction.

Ryan Byard

Ryan enters his second year as Co-Coach of the Colts, bringing strong leadership and teaching instincts to the role. Alongside football, Ryan has co-coached school basketball teams over the past two years, including a premiership win in 2025 with fellow Parrot Tom Symes.

Favourite footballers:

  • AFL: Luke Breust

  • Parrots: Thomas Lilly

“Being a part of this club is the best decision I’ve ever made, not just for my football, but for life in general. I’ve met some of my best mates here, and the support system and culture are second to none. You won’t regret becoming a Parrot.”

Alec “Relton” Roberts

Alec returns after coaching the Under 18s in 2025, following earlier experience assisting with the Under 14s at Tamar Demons in 2024. His calm leadership style and strong connection with players make him a valued part of the Colts program.

A lifelong St Kilda supporter (unfortunately), Alec’s favourite footballers are Nick Riewoldt and Stephen Milne.

Having been part of Bridgenorth since 2020 (Covid Cup), Alec has developed a deep appreciation for the club and its people.

“I feel privileged to be part of the Colts program and to help bring some awesome people into our club.”
